Project M Iceland

Project M Iceland focused on that country's economic crisis in the early part of 2009.

Playing with the double meaning of the word "ÓRÓI which means disturbance and wind chime/mobile in Icelandic. The meaning characterizes the political and economic situation in Iceland. Often people feel calmness in caos.

One of the Blitz team groups, named Dismount by a random word exercise, got into the news today by creating a carpet of coins in front of the Central Bank in Reykjavik today. The carpet consisted of 12,793 Kronur, correlating to the number of unemployed people in Iceland. This photo shows them cleaning up after the demonstration. They told me that the bank officials actually approved their protest and that they were interviewed by 7 news teams.
